Club Nights in Alnwick

Alnwick Chess Club is on summer break. The  NEXT club night at Alnwick Rugby Club is on Friday 3rd September 2010

While the chess club is taking a Summer  Break there will be no Club nights in Alnwick until  Friday 3rd September 2010

But if your interested in joining us, still leave your details and someone will contact you when we begin our club nights.( or keep checking this website)

We usually just play casual  matches amongst those available on  club nights in Alnwick, nothing serious as its mainly trying to improve our game & trying different ideas out.

 If you have played chess previously, and would like to re-start playing again, let us know.

You  may have lived in the Alnwick area all your life, or maybe just moved to this part of the country recently, no matter what you will be welcome

Chess beginners can come along too, no matter what your standard of play is... you will gain from being in a chess club.

The main thing is coming along, & play some chess, we are one of the smallest chess clubs numbers wise, compared to other clubs, so our aim is to get more people playing / learning chess at the club.

The aim of our club nights in Alnwick is to bring more players into the chess club as we realise that not everyone can (or wants to) travel  to Morpeth on Wednesday nights.

Casual or Competitive Chess its up to you.

There is No requirement for anyone joining the club to play in the league team, you can still play casual friendly chess which will be unrated & not count towards an E.C.F. grade.

But should you feel you want to play within the team (or even give it a try ) at any time, then we will be only too happy to include you in team matches.

Likewise any person wanting to take part in competitive team matches when joining us can do so and will get to play at the earliest opportunity.

Remember every chess player was once a beginner...so don't let that stop you coming along to our club nights.

 As should a club night have to be cancelled in advance due to unexpected events, or  private functions taking place, someone can contact you.
